How to spot a scam call

Please remember that genuine calls from Three, will ask you to confirm your details, not provide them. For example: "This is Jane from Customer Support. Can I confirm that I'm speaking to John, the owner of 083 123456?" Representatives from Three will not ask you to provide your mobile number or My3 login details.

Scam calls these days can be very hard to spot. That is why we advise all our customers to be vigilant and to keep the below in mind to protect yourself.

  • Don’t allow yourself to be rushed. If the caller is putting you under pressure to provide personal details or complete an action, hang up. Genuine calls from your service provider like Three, your bank or utility company will not rush you.
  • Do not provide personal details, unless you are 100% sure the caller is genuine. If you are unsure hang up and call the company back. Be aware genuine organisations will not ask you for pin codes or passwords.
  • If you don’t recognise the number, or the call is coming from a country you’ve no reason to expect a call from, don’t answer.
