The Three Aware Tote Bag With BiPolarBear Wear
When you visit our stores this Christmas, you’ll likely spot these gorgeous colourful tote bags.
If you’re popping into a Three Store this Christmas to get some shopping done, we’ve got something really special for you to check out. We’ve teamed up with the amazing founder and owner of BiPolarBear Wear, Stephen Considine, to offer a limited edition tote bag with all proceeds going to support our charity partner, Aware.
These bags are on sale in all of our Three stores around Ireland from December 3rd for €4.99. Designed by BiPolarBear Wear, all proceeds from the sales of this bag will go to supporting our charity partner, Aware.
The design, titled “Weight of the World” comes from his own battles with mental health issues. Speaking on the design of the tote, Considine says “it’s a reminder to become more sentient of our surroundings. The barbed wire and the mountain/contour lines are the darkness we have to break through and the signal arcs represent the communication we need to pursue”. He continues describing the design and how it “represents carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. My own journey has been one of the toughest but most beneficial. I am still shedding toxicity but sowing the seeds through communication, medication, meditation and reflection”.
Elaine Carey, Chief Commercial Officer at Three Ireland and Three UK says “at Three, we understand the importance of connection, and how vital it can be for those who are going through a difficult time. What Is Aware?
Aware is an Irish charity founded in 1985 by Dr. Patrick McKeon. The organisation was founded to help people, and their families, with a diagnosis of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and other related mood conditions. Their goal is to provide free information, education and support to anyone who needs it.
Over the years, Aware has grown and today they educate and empower more people than ever to look after their mental health. Stephen Butterly of Aware says “depression and bipolar disorder are serious conditions that impact on households all across our country, and throughout 2021 we have seen a continuation of high levels of demand for our services”.
“We are very thankful for the continuing support from Three who have been a valued partner over the past two years. Initiatives like this help us to raise awareness of depression and bipolar disorder, as well as raising vital funds so that we can continue to be there for everyone that needs us”.
Who Is BiPolarBear Wear?
BiPolarBear Wear was founded by Stephen Considine in 2016 with the mission of providing awesome clothing to “promote happiness and awareness of not-so-happiness”. Speaking on the Three Aware tote bag initiative, Considine says he’s “very happy to work with Three and express my feelings through the artwork […] Speaking to someone or reaching out is so important and something I’d encourage everyone to do, which is why we established BiPolarBear Wear in the first place”.
