Three BeFree Terms
The following terms and conditions for the “Three BeFree" price plan are in addition to and form part of the terms and conditions of the Three Service. Activation by you to the Three BeFree price plan is deemed to be your agreement to these terms and conditions.
Three will endeavour to activate The Three BeFree price plan within 24 hours of registering.
The Three BeFree price plan entitles you to 26c per minute on national voice calls (excluding voicemail and premium rate numbers) to all Irish landlines and Irish mobile numbers. Once opted in, you must top up by a single €20 in one payment to activate the free weekend texts ("Free Weekend Texts") benefit. You must top up every 28 days to retain the benefit. This is a rolling 28 day requirement and if you top up again by a single €20 or more in one payment before 28 days expires then a new 28 day period commences. This excludes any drip fed or promotional credit received each month. If you fail to top up by €20 in one payment within 28 days you will not be able to avail of your benefit again until you have topped up by the required single €20 in one payment.
You will revert to the standard Price Plan rates if you do not meet the top up requirement. A call set up charge of 9c applies to all connected domestic calls including calls to Irish landlines and mobiles. All charges are shown and billed per minute and you will be billed a full minute for each part of a minute used.
Free Weekend Text offer applies to all standard SMS messages only and excludes the following:
- MMS/Video Messages or any other types of messaging medium apart from standard SMS
- Premium SMS messages to short codes
- International Text
- Roaming Text
- Text to landlines
"Weekend" is defined as Midnight Friday to midnight Sunday and excludes Bank Holiday Mondays.
Only Customers on the Three BeFree price plan may avail of Free Weekend Texts. To avail of the offer Customer must change their price plan to Three BeFree.
Existing Three customers who wish to avail of Free Weekend Text offer may do so by moving to the Three BeFree price plan during the Promotion Period and may move back to their original Three Tariff Plan at any time (provided it is at that time a then available Three Tariff Plan).You acknowledge that you will lose any original discounts or offers under the original Three Tariff Plan once you move to Three BeFree and that if and when you subsequently move from Three BeFree back to your original or to another Tariff Plan, you will lose the benefit of the Three BeFree price plan.
Once a customer has moved from Three Friends, Family Plan, Friends and Family plan or any discontinued pre-pay price plan to Three BeFree it is not possible to move back from this to your previous price plan. Once a customer signs up to this offer, they are giving the consent to Three to contact them by SMS to inform them of changes/enhancements to the offer and updates while the customer remains on this offer. This does not affect or limit any previous consent given by the customer.
Three reserves the right to suspend or cease the Free Weekend Text offer and the Three BeFree price plan and to amend and modify these terms and conditions without notice for any legitimate commercial, technical or operational reason.
Three operates a Fair Usage Policy. It is important to Three that all eligible Three customers are able to access our services. Accordingly, we have devised a fair use policy which applies to Free Weekend Texts offer. Three may rely on this fair use policy where your usage of Free Weekend Texts is deemed excessive or unreasonable as detailed in this paragraph. Three has developed a threshold for Free Weekend Texts by reference to average high text users and estimated customer usage of Free Weekend Texts. The Threshold is regularly reviewed against average high users and is currently set at 2,000 text messages every 30 day period. If, at the absolute discretion of Three, Three is of the opinion, that your usage of the Service materially exceeds the threshold over any month, Three may contact you to advise you that your usage exceeds its fair use policy. If the excessive usage continues to exceed the threshold after receipt of a request to desist from or alter the nature of such usage, Three reserves the right to charge you for the excessive element of your usage at your price plan's standard rate or to suspend, at its absolute discretion, modify or restrict your use of Free Weekend Texts or to withdraw your access to the Free Weekend texts Offer.
Three shall not be liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, howsoever arising from the promotion or for termination, withdrawal or amending the promotion. The Free Weekend Text Promotion will not apply to, and may not be used, in conjunction with Prolinks, Sim boxes or any related device which diverts / transfers calls to multiple mobile numbers and Three reserves the right to terminate the Service without notice where it appears to Three that any customer uses, or has used, the Service in this or in any related manner.
Three BeFree Price Plans (Prepay)
The following terms and conditions of the BeFree Price Plans are in addition to the General Terms for Services and any other terms provided to you. Please read the details of the Price Plans and Price Plan Rules carefully. Please note that your selection of one of the Three BeFree Price Plans is deemed by us to be your agreement to these terms and conditions.

|BeFree Internet||The BeFree Internet Price Plan gives mobile internet use within the Republic of Ireland or the EU subject to a fair use limit of 7.5GB per 28 days. The Price Plan also gives 350 texts to any Irish mobile while in the Republic of Ireland, and to Irish and EU numbers while Roaming in the EU, for up to 28 days when you have topped up by €20 or more in one payment. Once you top up by €20 or more in one payment a €10 charge will be applied and the plan benefits will activate. This €10 charge applies each time you top up by €20 or more in one payment. If you complete a new minimum top up you will not carry over unused allowances from your previous top up period. The 350 texts will be applied first and the internet allowance will then follow. A confirmation text will be sent when the Price Plan benefits have been applied. When this Price Plan is selected you replace any existing data add ons with the unlimited internet allowance once you complete a minimum top up. Standard rates apply outside Price Plan allowances. See below details on moving to or from the BeFree Internet Price Plan. The BeFree Internet Price Plan is not available as an unlimited product for purposes other than internet access on your mobile phone device, (such as tethering). |BeFree International||The International Plan gives unlimited calls to Irish mobiles and landlines while in the Republic of Ireland, and to Irish and EU numbers while Roaming in the EU, and 40 minutes to select international landlines/mobiles, while in the Republic of Ireland for up to 28 days. The benefits apply when you top up by €25 or more in one payment. Once you top up a €15 charge is applied and the plan benefits activate. Activation is confirmed by text. This €15 charge applies each time you top up by €25 or more in one payment. Standard charges apply once you have used your 40 international minutes. |BeFree Anytime||The BeFree Anytime Price Plan gives unlimited any network calls to Irish mobiles and landlines, unlimited any network texts to Irish mobiles and 1 0GB data in the Republic of Ireland for up to 28 days. These benefits are also available if you are Roaming in the EU. The benefits apply when you have topped up by €30 or more in one payment. Once you top up by €30 or more in one payment a €30 charge will be applied and the plan benefits will activate. This €30 charge applies each time you top up by €30 or more in one payment. If you complete a new minimum top up you will not carry over unused allowances from your previous top up period. A confirmation text will be sent when the Price Plan benefits have been applied. Once this Plan is selected you will replace any existing Prepay data Add on with a 10GB allowance once you complete a minimum top up. Standard rates apply if you use your text or data allowance and/or the 28 day period expires. If you have used the ‘Lend me’ service prior to your minimum top up and lend me charges are due for recovery then they will be taken from your next minimum top up. You will need to ensure that you top up by more than €30 to ensure the full price plan benefits activate on your Anytime plan. |BeFree Talk 10||The BeFree Talk10 Price Plan allows you to make unlimited calls to any Three mobile number for up to 28 days while in the Republic of Ireland when you have topped up by €10 in one payment every 28 days. Activation of benefits will be confirmed by text.|
Top Up Requirements: Once your BeFree Plan has been activated and confirmed the BeFree Price Plan benefits apply when you complete the minimum top up requirement applicable to your Price Plan in one payment. Please note the benefits will not apply to Top Ups made before activation of your Price Plan is confirmed by text message.
The minimum top up provides Price Plan benefits for up to 28 days or until the allowances are used (whichever is first). If you top up before the end of the 28 day term then a new 28 day term starts. If you fail to complete the minimum top up before the end of a 28 day term then you will lose the Price Plan benefits and will be charged standard rates. If you change to another BeFree Price Plan then a new minimum top up is required to activate your new Price Plan benefits.
There is no carry forward of unused benefits if you change Price Plan or if you complete a new minimum top up before your 28 day benefit period expires. We will attempt to send a reminder to top up before your benefit period expires however we will not be responsible if for any reason a reminder is delayed, not received or cannot be sent.
It is recommended that you top up by less than the minimum amount if you want retain Price Plan benefits for the full 28 day period. Please note any bonus credit that you receive will not count towards your minimum top up requirement.
Top Up Expiry
Effective from 1st December 2020, any top up credit on your account will expire after 180 days. Your Three Prepay account credit will expire 180 days from the date that your account was last topped up. For any pre-existing credit on your account as of 1 December 2020, the expiry date for that credit will start from 1 December 2020. If you do not use your top up credit or add another top up credit within the 180 days, the credit will expire and your balance will be set to zero. When you top up again, your expiry date will be 180 days from this new date.

Automatic Plan charges: An automatic charge of €10 applies on the BeFree Talk and BeFree Internet Price Plans. On the BeFree International Price Plan there is an automatic charge of €15. On the BeFree Anytime Price Plan there is an automatic charge of €30. Please note the Price Plan automatic charge will be applied to your chosen services each time you top up by the minimum amount (or more) in one payment. Your benefits will apply for up to a maximum of 28 days each time you complete the minimum top up.
On the BeFree Internet Price Plan the text allowance will be lost when another minimum top up is applied. Please note if you purchase an Internet Add On/Internet Gift Card, and subsequently top up by the required minimum amount or more in one go, it will replace any remaining internet allowance.
Add ons: You should check any Add ons you have before availing of a BeFree Price Plan as you may decide they are no longer required. Log on to ‘My Account’ to check your Add ons. Some Add on purchases will be restricted once you are on a BeFree Price Plan.
BeFree Fair Use Policy
Three may apply restrictions to your use of services where your use of any BeFree unlimited features are considered to be excessive or unreasonable. The fair use limits are as follows: 5,000 voice minutes and 5,000 text messages for a 28 day period or if you call more than 100 different phone numbers or text more than 200 different numbers in a 28 day period. The BeFree Internet fair use allowance of 7.5GB per 28 day period is designed to ensure unlimited access to internet on your mobile phone device. It is not suitable as an unlimited product for purposes other than internet access on your mobile (such as tethering).
Three may contact you to advise you that your use is above this fair use policy and request that you change how you use the services. If you do not comply with a direction from Three to stop or change the nature of your service use, Three may suspend, modify or restrict your use of the services or terminate your access to the network.
