Roaming in the EU
The European Union has amended the rules regarding roaming rates. The overall aim of the roaming regulation is to allow users to use their mobile phone or mobile broadband device at home or within the EU where the same charging mechanism will apply from 15 June 2017. It will be a ‘roam like at home’ experience.
This is what we are doing from 15 June 2017: Three is introducing a “Roam Like Home” experience for its customers. In relation to certain open data bundles and in particular, its AYCE data offering, Three is applying the roaming regulation Fair Use Policy. This means that customers will get a generous data allowance for use in the EU and charged a surcharge for usage in excess of the allowance. The EU data roaming allowances are calculated in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 531/2012, as amended and prevailing data wholesale roaming caps from 15 June 2017. EU Fair Use Policy terms and conditions will apply. A small number of plans will remain domestic only plans as permitted under the roaming regulation.
You still will receive the advice of charge messaging and be able to control your data spend while roaming regardless of the destination!
