To submit your documents, simply email to care@3moneycare.com, visit 3Money online now or open the app, click ‘Premium’ and follow the steps. Remember, your document needs to be in full colour and under the same name as the registered card holder.

You can verify your card by submitting images of the required documents by email to care@3moneycare.com or online on the 3Money site or in the app. Log in and click ‘Premium’. You’ll need to provide high quality images of the documents showing your ID and proof of address. You can use any of the following documents:

For your ID document:

  • Tax notification document

  • Electricity bill

It normally takes about two working days to verify your card if all the documents are correct, and remember you’ll need to submit high quality images for the verification to be approved.

When you first buy your card, the maximum account balance is €250. If you don’t verify your card, you can’t top up by bank transfer or transfer funds to any other customers. You can only withdraw money from ATMs in Ireland.

Verifying your card (by providing proof of ID and address online) allows you more freedom. Your daily top up limit is increased to €500 and the annual top up limit is €25,000. You can transfer funds to any other customer who has also verified their card, withdraw cash from international ATMs and there’s no limit to the funds you can transfer from your card to your bank account.

It normally takes up to two days provided your documents are correct.

The current limits, if you don’t submit the required documents, will be:

  • €100 national withdrawals over life of 3Money card (no international withdrawals allowed)
  • Balance that can be held on the card will be €250 at any given time
  • Maximum spend allowed on the card will be €250/month or €3,000/year
  • Maximum top-up allowed per card will be €250/month or €2,500/year

By having your documents verified your limits will increase to:

  • €750 national and international withdrawals a day (up to €1,000/month and €12,000/year)
  • Balance that can be held on the card will be €25,000 at any given time
  • Maximum top-up allowed per card will be €500/day or €25,000/year

You can transfer money to another 3Money customer once you both have Premium accounts. Just log in to the site or app and click on the Transfer option. You’ll need the mobile number of the person you want to send money to. If the transfer is successful, you can save their details to use again.

  • Log in to your online banking account or visit your bank. You will need to send the funds to BNP via swift.
  • You will have to cover the cost of sending funds. Transfer of international funds depends on the sending bank. Once funds are received at the intermediary bank, they will be processed onto your 3Money card within 24 hours.
  • Did you know you can use your 3Money card statement as proof of funds for your Visa? Log into your 3Money account and go to ‘Transaction History’. From there you can download a pdf, showing your balance and transactions.

You can transfer any money on your 3Money card to your bank account if you have a Premium account (verified your documents). Log in to the site or app, click Transfer and then Bank Transfer. If you haven’t transferred money to your bank account before, you’ll need to enter the IBAN and BIC code from your bank statement.There is a €5 fee to return money to your bank account. Insert your card into the ATM, enter your PIN when prompted and the amount you want to withdraw. If you have a Standard card you can withdraw a maximum of €100 over the life of the card.

Remember, you can always move to a Premium 3Money account for free to withdraw a maximum of €12,000 a year.

The fee is €2 for Euro withdrawals. So the balance on your card needs to cover the amount you request plus the fee for that withdrawal. Premium 3Money customers can use their 3Money card outside of the EU as there is no charge on ATM withdrawals.
