Who we are

Three is now Ireland’s second largest mobile operator with 35% market share and two million customers.

Three is 100% owned by CK Hutchison Holdings (CK Hutchison), a renowned multinational conglomerate committed to innovation and technology.

Three operates 2G, 3G and 4G networks, with 96% coverage nationwide. We will invest a further €300m in building our state-of-the-art 4G network over the next two years.

Three’s head office is in Dublin, with our Customer Care centre in Limerick and in February 2015, Three and Tech Mahindra opened a Customer Service centre in Waterford creating 130 jobs. Three operates 69 retail stores and currently employees over 1,400 employees throughout Ireland.

Three sponsors the Irish International Football team and Ireland’s largest indoor music venue, 3Arena. In February 2015 , Three announced a four year partnership deal with Electric Picnic, Longitude and the NYF Countdown Concert.

Robert has been with the Hutchison Group for 23 years. He reports directly to CK Hutchison Holdings in Hong Kong. As CEO, he has overall responsibility for building the Three business in the Irish market.

Where would you like to work?



Three Business encompasses the acquisition and retention of business customers through our own Business Development Executives, Business Account Managers and Customer Care. We also promote our propositions, products and services through working closely with the handset and marketing communication teams.

We support our stores, maintain and manage all aspects of and telesales and create campaigns to drive demand for Three’s products and services. We create exciting experiences and offers for our customers, using Three’s extensive sponsorship portfolio. We devise and manage our propositions and manage the handset roadmap to ensure that Three has the best range of smartphones and data devices in the market.

Three puts a huge emphasis on making sure that the customer is at the heart of everything we do. Our CRM department operates seamlessly with this vision ensuring that we provide an exceptional level of service to our customers at all times.

We look after the financial controls, analysis and performance review of the business and support the delivery of our profitability objectives in our business plan. Three Finance team encompasses procurement, revenue assurance, risk management and financial reporting. We set commercial targets, actuals and forecasts. We are responsible for all taxes that may affect the company, as well as payroll and expenses for employees.

IT & Networks

We look after all aspects of Three’s network build and maintenance at home and while roaming. It’s our job to ensure Three has the best population network coverage for voice, text and broadband. The team are responsible for the design, implementation, testing and rollout of all new hardware and functionality on the network. We also manage all the IT systems that are used internally at Three.

People & Property

The People & Property team look after all employees and property at Three. Our job is to hire the best people and to support them throughout their career with the company. We support employee development and help create an environment that makes Three a great place to work. We also take care of the physical environment of the Stores, Contact Centre and the Support Office.

PR & Communications

We are responsible for all of Three’s corporate communication, both internal and external. We manage the press office and liaise with journalists on a day-to-day basis on any queries they have about Three. We prepare pro-active and reactive press releases to protect Three’s reputation and maximise positive media coverage. We manage Three’s internal communications which keep employees informed of important company news, and organise engaging employee events. Three’s Corporate Social Responsibility activity is also managed within the team.

The team looks after Three’s MVNO agreements such as those with UPC and Carphone Warehouse. We are also responsible for ensuring all wholesale agreements for international roaming are in place to meet the business’ needs.

Our retail stores are nationwide. We own 33 Retail stores as well as 30 Franchise stores all across Ireland. The retail channels sell both consumer and business products. In 2014 approx 30% of all business sales came from Retail.
